There is a particular kind of stress that Indian brand owners and performance marketers know well: the nagging awareness that your Meta campaigns are running, money is flowing, and you have not checked in since this morning. So you open Meta Ads Manager on your phone during a meeting, wait 30 seconds for it to load, squint at a dashboard that was not designed for a 6-inch screen, try to understand three new recommendations, and close it without taking any action because it is too complex to act on in the moment.

This cycle repeats 4-6 times a day for most Indian performance marketers we talk to. It is not just a time problem — it is a decision quality problem. When you are checking ads in stolen moments between other tasks, you make worse decisions or no decisions at all. Campaigns that should be scaled stay flat. Creatives that should be paused keep burning budget. Recommendations that should be approved wait for hours.

We built AdsSarthi's WhatsApp approval workflow specifically to solve this. India has 853 million WhatsApp users according to Meta's own advertising statistics — it is the primary professional communication channel for most Indian business owners. Ad management should live where the manager already is.

How the WhatsApp Digest Works

Every morning at 8 AM IST, AdsSarthi sends a structured digest to your connected WhatsApp number. The format is deliberately simple — it was designed to be readable and actionable in under 60 seconds, even on a commute.

A typical digest looks like this:

AdsSarthi Morning Report — Tuesday, 29 Apr

Yesterday's performance across 4 active campaigns:
Total spend: ₹18,450 | ROAS: 4.1x | Conversions: 47
vs. last Tuesday: Spend +12% | ROAS +0.3x ✓

3 recommendations today:

1. Increase budget on "Hindi Fashion — Remarketing" by ₹3,000/day. Current ROAS: 6.2x, CTR: 3.8%. High performer, under-budgeted. Reply 1Y to approve or 1N to skip.

2. Pause "English Cold — Electronics" creative set. CTR has dropped from 2.1% to 0.6% over 7 days — classic fatigue signal. Reply 2Y to pause or 2N to keep running.

3. Add negative keyword "free delivery jobs" to Google Shopping campaign. Triggered 34 clicks, zero conversions, ₹290 wasted. Reply 3Y to add or 3N to skip.

Reply REPORT for full breakdown or PAUSE ALL to halt all campaigns.

You reply with the numbered codes — 1Y, 2Y, 3N — and AdsSarthi executes the approved actions immediately across your connected Meta and Google accounts. No login. No navigation. No dashboard.

Why WhatsApp Works Better Than Email for Indian Marketers

We originally considered building an email-based digest, and we tested it with early users. The open rates were reasonable — around 45%. But the action rates were poor — only 12% of email recipients actually took action on the recommendations within 4 hours.

WhatsApp told a completely different story. Open rates exceed 90% for the morning digest. Action rates are above 78% within 2 hours. The difference is not just platform — it is context. When a WhatsApp message arrives, it exists in the same space as messages from family, colleagues, and business partners. It demands a response in a way that email simply does not for most Indian professionals.

This matters commercially. Recommendations that are acted on within 2 hours perform significantly better than the same recommendations acted on 8 hours later, because Meta and Google's algorithms are responsive to budget and bid changes in near-real time. A budget increase approved at 8:15 AM starts generating additional conversions by 9 AM. The same approval made at 4 PM misses the morning conversion window entirely.

WhatsApp vs. Email ad management: what we measured across AdsSarthi accounts
  • Morning digest open rate — WhatsApp: 91% | Email: 44%
  • Action taken within 2 hours — WhatsApp: 78% | Email: 12%
  • Average time to approve/deny a recommendation — WhatsApp: 23 seconds | Email: 8 minutes
  • Weekly logins to Meta Ads Manager — WhatsApp users: 2.1 avg | Email users: 18.4 avg
  • ROAS improvement vs. baseline (90-day) — WhatsApp approval: +31% | Email approval: +14%

The Recommendation Engine: What Gets Surfaced and Why

The quality of a WhatsApp approval workflow is only as good as the recommendations it surfaces. Sending 15 low-quality recommendations per day trains users to ignore the digest. We limit to a maximum of 5 recommendations per day, and each one passes a set of quality filters before it reaches your WhatsApp:

Budget Increase Recommendations

AdsSarthi surfaces a budget increase recommendation only when all three of these conditions are met simultaneously:

  1. The ad set's ROAS over the last 7 days exceeds your target ROAS by at least 20%
  2. The ad set is delivery-constrained (i.e., it is spending its full daily budget and could spend more)
  3. The recommended increase does not push total daily spend above your account's configured maximum

This prevents the common failure mode of AI recommendation systems that suggest budget increases on ad sets that are already spending freely — which just inflates spend without generating proportional returns.

Creative Fatigue Alerts

Fatigue detection watches CTR decay curves over 7 and 14-day rolling windows, calibrated by your audience size and frequency levels. The thresholds are different for metro audiences vs. tier-2/3 audiences, and different for vernacular creatives vs. English creatives, based on the distinct engagement decay patterns we have observed across Indian accounts.

Waste Elimination Recommendations

These cover negative keyword additions, audience overlap flags, placement performance alerts (e.g., a specific placement spending 30% of budget at 0.4x ROAS), and conversion tracking anomalies. These recommendations typically have the highest ROI of any action category — ₹1 of waste eliminated is equivalent to ₹1 of profit recovered at zero additional spend.

Auto-Approval Rules: Full Automation When You Want It

For brand owners who want complete automation during busy periods — festival season, travel, or simply days when you want to be fully focused on other things — AdsSarthi supports auto-approval rules. These allow specific recommendation types to execute automatically without requiring a WhatsApp reply.

Common auto-approval configurations our users set up:

  • "Auto-approve any budget increase where ROAS > 5x and increase amount < ₹5,000/day"
  • "Auto-approve all negative keyword additions"
  • "Auto-approve creative pause when CTR drops below 0.5% and frequency > 4"
  • "Auto-approve festival budget boosts per Festival Intelligence calendar"

You remain in the loop via the morning digest — auto-approved actions are shown as "executed automatically" in the daily summary — but you are not required to actively approve each one. This is particularly useful during Diwali week, when campaign recommendations can come faster than normal and you may not want to be checking WhatsApp every hour.

Setting Up WhatsApp Ad Management in Under 10 Minutes

The setup process is straightforward:

  1. Connect your Meta and Google accounts to AdsSarthi via secure OAuth (no password sharing). This takes under 3 minutes.
  2. Enter your WhatsApp number in your AdsSarthi account settings. We send a verification code.
  3. Set your preferences: target ROAS, daily spend maximum, which recommendation types you want surfaced, and any auto-approval rules.
  4. The next morning at 8 AM IST, you will receive your first digest.

You do not need to change anything about how your campaigns are currently structured. AdsSarthi reads your existing campaign data, generates recommendations based on performance signals, and surfaces them to WhatsApp. Your existing campaign structure stays intact.

Start with our free 14-day trial — no credit card required. During the trial, you will receive the full WhatsApp digest and can approve or deny recommendations to see how the system works before committing. See all features included in each plan.

What Happens When You Are Offline

Campaigns do not pause when you are unreachable. AdsSarthi's default behaviour when recommendations are not actioned within a configurable window (default: 6 hours) is to hold all pending recommendations and consolidate them into the next morning digest. This prevents stale recommendations from being actioned with outdated data.

For critical alerts — significant spend spikes, ROAS dropping below a configured floor, or conversion tracking failures — AdsSarthi sends immediate WhatsApp notifications outside the morning digest, regardless of time. These are flagged clearly as urgent and include a one-tap link to pause the affected campaign if needed.
